Stretching my Prayer Life 2 PRAYER LISTS STRETCH MY FAITH

When I start making a list of prayer requests God always puts people on my list whose problems seem too complex to heal. I am often amazed when they start to turn things around in their lives. Then more often than not they disappoint me terribly. I would give up except I have committed to pray for the list they are on. Continuing to pray stretches my faith far more than seeing answers great or small.

  1. In what ways have you been disappointed by those who've made a turn around?

  2. Christ is the only one who won't disappoint us. Remember, Peter disappointed Christ, but was the first Christ personally asked for. Don't give up on us. ; )

I don't know how often, but I do know folks that we have served faithfully can certainly disappoint us at times. Been there and done that. Does change the way we might pray for them. Prayer has to deal with the reality of the/their situation.

Have even seen folks turn and start to work against us in personal and ministerial ways. Always hurts deeply and leads to prayers for forgiveness ... after I think about it for a while.

I try to end up at a place that acknowledges that Jesus certainly went through the same on a much larger scale than I will ever know, and then to thank Him for allowing me to experience some of the same grief/sorrow that He knew.

  4. This is a super word. I also need to admit that I am sometimes dissappointed in people who do not deserve it. I know several incedents where I was worrying about people messing up who did not mess up.
